12 Months!

I know I already did a Birthday post but I figure it's his 1st birthday he can have two. So we kept his real birthday low key.

So we started the day by singing Happy Birthday and filling his crib with balloons. He loved it!
We gave him on special helium balloon that he loved to hit.We had family over and some cupcakes. He didn't really like the cupcake he took one bite and then threw it.He loved his presents. I think he had a good day
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY! We LOVE YOU!

Texas Birthday!

On August 26th Cade turned 1! I can't believe my baby is 1! He is amazing! Everyday is so much and and he really has one of the happiest and friendliest personalities. He is starting to walk and tells me what he does and does not want. He loves to read and to whack things. He is the best eater, he would rather eat tomatoes than his birthday cake. I can't even fully explain how special and amazing he is. I love him more than words can say and I am so lucky that I am his mother. Cade thanks for teaching me to be a mom!

I actually made the Birthday banner!

I decided Cade needed his own special outfit for his party. So, I made this onesie for him.

So in Texas we decided to throw a big birthday bash! Cade had over 30 people at his first party! We had pizza, fruit, vegetables, soda, and of course cake and ice cream.

We set up a water toy for the little kids.I made Cade's cakes. White and chocolate with butter cream icing. He didn't really care for the cake.He tried to share! And he mostly just through it and dumped it off the plate. He did enjoy the ice cream a little more.My handsome boys.

Wedding, family, and Texas fun!

A couple of weeks ago we made our way down to Texas for my brother Zach's wedding. It was a busy time but we got to spend some time at pools and just hanging out with family.

Here we are at the reception. That's my great aunt Mary behind us. She came all the way down from California at 93 years old. Cade with my brothers.

At one of the many great pools with Adam's sisters.
Enjoying the pool some more.

At the pool with my family.
Reading with Grandma.
My mom and me!
Cade and his cousin Kendall. They were so cute! They even held hands.
Cade loved the piano at my parents house. Hopefully when I make him take lessons one day he will feel the same way.

Canada

Last weekend we went on a little trip to Canada. The Seattle heat was getting to us and we thought Victoria sounded a lot better. (I know some of you are saying 110 degrees for a week is nothing, BUT the homes built in this area don't have AIR CONDITIONING, so it's like your sitting in your own oven)!

It's about a 2 hour ferry ride. It wasn't too bad the worst was when some older women came to talk to me and preceded to tell me that I was a bad mother and that my son was going to get some sort of disease for touching the floor on the ferry. All I can say is you try keeping an active 11 month old still for 2 plus hours and see how well that goes. And I know the floor is dirty but how clean do you think the grass or sandbox is at the park.

We went to the beautiful Butchart Gardens. It really is something worth seeing.

In the Japanese Gardens

The Rose GardenThe next day we went to a petting zoo and just enjoyed the nice weather and beautiful scenery.

Here Cade is enjoying petting the baby goats. He really likes animals.
Then we went and fed some ducks. Cade didn't really like when we started throwing the bread to the ducks. Here he is trying to pick it up and eat it before the ducks could get to it.
All in all it was a fun but fast trip.

Nap Time

So Cade doesn't really like to sleep. He might be finally sleeping through the night (well does it count if he wakes around 6am to eat and goes back to bed). But least it seems to only be once now. And he only takes one nap a day, about 1-2 hours. Anyways the other day this is what I found.

Apparently he wanted to change clothes.
If you look to the left of his blanket you see pj's and a jacket
a stack of too small onesies to the rightand the box he likes to collect them from.
Who knew nap time could be so fun!
On another note Cade gets into everything.
He does try to help though!

Museum of Flight and berry picking

This past month we went and picked raspberries. They were so good.Cade taking a break and riding the hay horse. We also went to The Museum of Flight. It was fun to see all the big planes. I was surprised how much the museum had in it. All the way from Space Travel to the beginning of planes including WW1 and WW2 which Adam really enjoyed.

Here we are in the kids section flying a plane.

Ballard Locks

We have been trying to take advantage of the sun that we feel like we rarely see. So a couple of Saturdays ago we went to The South 47 Farm in hopes to pick raspberries but because of the cold winter they still weren't ready but Cade enjoyed petting a goat, so it was worth it. Then we were off to the Ballard Locks to see the salmon. Lastly we stopped off at the famous cupcake place Cupcake Royale, if you haven't tried them you should.

Cade being a scarecrow. He didn't care for the sun in his eyes.Petting the pygmy goats. He loved it!Trying to see the salmon.Adam and Cade stopping to smell the roses. We stopped and listened to some music and played in the grass. Isn't this just a face for mischief.
